Renovation of Village Hall

Project:

Renovation of Village Hall

Location:

Ogwell, Devon

Client:

Ogwell Memorial Hall Committee

Contractor:

Payne Carpentry

Value:

Approx. £70k

We were initially approached by our local village hall to help explore the feasibility and costings for the proposed renovation of the hall in the hope of securing funding for the proposed works to ensure the future continuity of the community space for years to come.

After assisting our client in obtaining funding we successfully obtained planning permission for the renovation works which include the replacement of a series of aging roofs over what was a very dark, cold and damp space. The replacement roof structure sought to maximise light spill into the space through the vaulting of the roof with a series of glulam trusses and beams and inclusion of high level glazing to the new gable roof & two large roof lights. The works also included the installation of solar panels to the roof and extra insulation within the walls and roof to improve the overall energy efficiency of the building.
